Early in the morning, a Five S Travel representative will collect you from your hotel in Sharm for a full-day journey to Cairo by bus. Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be greeted by a knowledgeable Egyptologist guide who will accompany you on an unforgettable day exploring the wonders of the city. Your tour begins with a visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza, starting with the Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu), the only remaining wonder of the ancient world and the largest pyramid in Egypt, originally standing 146 meters tall since its completion around 2570 BC. Next, you will see the Pyramid of Chephren (Khafre), the second tallest pyramid on the Giza Plateau, built as the tomb for the Fourth Dynasty Pharaoh Khafre. Then, visit the Pyramid of Menkaure (Mycerinus), the smallest of the three main pyramids, believed to be the resting place of Pharaoh Menkaure. You will also encounter the legendary Great Sphinx, carved from a single piece of limestone, famous for its lion’s body and the face resembling King Khafre, measuring 70 meters in length and 20 meters in height. Afterwards, you will explore the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, also known as the Egyptian Museum or Cairo Museum, which houses over 120,000 artifacts showcasing ancient Egyptian history. The museum building, constructed in 1901 by an Italian company and designed by French architect Marcel Dourgnon, is one of the largest in the region. Here, you may opt to visit the Royal Mummies’ room (subject to an additional fee). After this enriching day, you will be comfortably transported back to Sharm by a private air-conditioned vehicle and returned to your hotel.
