In the morning, a Five S Travel tour guide will collect you from your hotel in Cairo to begin an unforgettable journey exploring some of Egypt’s most historic sites:
First, visit the ancient city of Memphis, which served as the capital of Lower Egypt during the 3rd millennium BC. Situated on the west bank of the Nile River delta, Memphis holds great archaeological significance and was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. Here, you will explore vast necropolises and witness the impressive Colossi of Ramses II—massive statues that reflect the grandeur of one of Egypt’s greatest rulers.
Next, head to Saqqara to marvel at the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, designed by the legendary architect Imhotep. This unique pyramid is the oldest stone monument in history and predates the pyramids at Giza. The structure consists of six stacked Mastaba tombs, creating a step-like appearance symbolizing a stairway to the heavens.
The tour continues to Dahshur, where you will see the Red Pyramid, built by King Sneferu. This pyramid is notable for being Egypt’s first true smooth-sided pyramid and the second-largest pyramid after the Great Pyramid of Giza. Standing around 100 meters tall, with a square base measuring 188 meters on each side, the Red Pyramid offers a fascinating glimpse into the early advancements of pyramid construction.
Once your exploration concludes, you will be comfortably transported back to your hotel in Cairo.
